Ya he puesto los pantallazos para que podáis verlo antes de descargarlo. Tiene un granulado extraño y el audio es muy bueno. Para mi es importante porque no he visto otras grabaciones de esta gira y me permite rememorar el concierto del Joy, así que contento de tenerlo.

No andare muy desacertado no te creas, con Dave Rosser su guitarrista habitual de la anterior gira hipotecado con el tour de Twilight Singers, y no te olvides que Johannes esta metido de lleno en la produccion del nuevo album, asi que esperemos que se asocien para los directos tambien...

Radiohost: Now that you mention Lanegan, we here were able to interview him last year when he was performing here, and last Tuesday we played the song, whats its name? ‘Jacob’s Ladder’, can you tell me any inside details on how the new Lanegan disc is coming along?

Alain: Well up to this moment we have seven songs ready, there are still a few little things lacking. We are trying to find Josh, who is very busy with the tour and everything, to play a couple of guitars and something like that, but seven songs are almost ready, three are still left [to be completed]. i think we’ll be ready to mix the disc in June.

According to Fiona Brice's website iTunes will have The Separate available this May (on which Mark sings on one track, a cover of the Cure's Close To Me).

“The Separate” is essentially a covers album: twelve well-known songs arranged for string quartet and featuring guest vocalists. Actually I don’t play violin on it at all! I conducted the quartet in the studio. But what is interesting about this album is that it showcases the rhythmic and emotional power of a string quartet, and also demonstrates that a song can be totally transformed when you change the instrumentation. The quartet IS the band. It is dark and filmic in places. I’m particularly pleased with “West End Girls” (Pet Shop Boys) sung by Brian Molko, and “Close to Me” (The Cure) sung by Mark Lanegan. Other guests include Martha Wainwright, Joan as Policewoman, Stephanie Dosen, Patrick Wolf, Ed Harcourt. This album should be available on iTunes this May.

Es una intimisima version de Cash asi que no defrauda seguro, lo de los Singers me tira la opción de verlos en Madrid en una sala, que otra vez en un festi, asi que ya lo comentamos en el Primavera ya!

Mil Gracias por la entrevista Ripple!! Creo que nunca habia oido a Alain hablar en castellano, es interesante.

Para mi, Alain Johannes es uno de los músicos más infravalorados de los últimos 25 años, y por qué no decirlo, con toda la mierda que hay por ahí, de la historia. Su disco debut, Spark, me parece sencillamente delicioso, una delicatesen para los sentidos y para el alma, y ni siquiera esta en wikipedia. Él mismo cuenta que en una revista de LA, que mencionaron a todos, menos a él...en fin...más injusto imposible...

La canción que menciona Alain que ha hecho con Cornell, va a aparecer en el Sountrack del film "Machine Gun Preacher", y sobre colaborar en un futuro album de Cornell, en plan acoustic me parece genial, es mas, espero que el proximo album de Cornell vaya por esos caminos, ayudado siempre por el gran Alain.

Descubrí la música de Alain Johannes a traves de "Eleven", aunque últimamente ando escuchando la que fue su primera banda, cuando habla de los RHCP, "What is this" o "Anthym", con Jack Irons, y Hillel Slovak (guitarrista original de RHCP), ambos amigos de Alain desde la infancia, de hecho, Alain y Hillel fueron los mentores musicales de Flea.

Echadle un vistazo, de 1984!



Estoy deseando de escuchar lo de nuevo de Lanegan.



Por cierto, hace 2 o 3 dias, en uno de los shows de Cornell en LA, Alain se subio al escenario a tocar un par de canciones con Chris.

Sip fue por la epoca del Whiskey for the Holy Ghost, a raiz de eso le propusieron que escribiera algun tema para las American Recordings de Cash y Rubin, pero parece que su tema no paso el corte para de Man in Black, una pena.

He leido por ahí que el nuevo disco tiene fecha para ultimos de año o para principios de 2012; "Lanegan chinese democracy"
