KLOSTER (DK) is a mainly acoustic and quiet project, but Mikael R Andreasen's spiritual songs are still rich on instrumental variations. On his latest release, The Waves and Winds Still Know His Voice, he borrows lyrics and themes from Julian of Norwich, an English seer who died around 1416.

KURT VILE & THE VIOLATORS (US) combine the scent of cactus and dusty highways from US radio rock with a homemade skewed feeling. Backing band The Violators are the young American’s faithful companions as the lively alternative highway rock transcends the home studio to the rock stage.

Jimmy Fallon, Mos Def, The Roots and Kanye West are fans. Werchter is to be next hands down. Revelation of the year, now already, JAMES BLAKE, is playing the Pyramid Marquee with its intimate atmosphere. The perfect spot for his experimental electronica. Subtle warmth included. THE HIVES, Swedish of origin and as inflammable as matches, will make the energy roll from the Main Stage. Theatre with balls! ANOUK, the most successful female singer to come from the Low Countries is playing Rock Werchter for the sixth time, and as such she has joined some really big names. An addition to Saturday's line-up: EVALINE will open the Pyramid Marquee. The six-piece from California made a really big impression at the latest SXSW festival in Austin. A good starting grid for Werchter, so to speak.
