Sea Level Guitarist Jimmy Nalls Dead at 66
Guitarist Jimmy Nalls, who rose to prominence as a co-founding member of the Allman Brothers Band splinter group Sea Level, has died at the age of 66.
Nalls’ passing was reported by the Allman Brothers Band Facebook page, where an update offers a tribute that begins by acknowledging that the Allmans community is still reeling from the recent deaths of Butch Trucks and Gregg Allman, both of whom died earlier this year. Calling Nalls “a tremendously talented guitarist and wonderful friend,” the post outlined the health issues that led to his death while honoring his continued perseverance.
“Jimmy has fought a valiant battle since 1995 with Parkinson’s Disease causing him to have poor balance, tremors and muscle related difficulties,” continues the post. “In spite of this he continued to make amazing music. He died today in his home in Nashville as the result of one final fall. The Allman Brothers Band will miss our old pal Jimmy Nalls.”

Today I lost a man I loved deeply and admired with all my heart. Johnny Sandlin was my father's best friend. He was someone who my dad could talk to and trust through the many changes in their lives together. Duane confided in him, laughed with him, made music with him and leaned on him. Duane loved the Duck. He was a gentle soul, a beloved friend, a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather, a great drummer, a brilliant producer, and the kindest person I have ever met. This year has brought us so many losses. My world is a changed place. The men who kept my father present in the world for me with their love of him are leaving. I sincerely hope they are together on the other side, cracking each other up. I love you, Johnny. Godspeed. #johnnysandlin #duaneallman #allmanbrothers #abbfam

Dickey Betts Announces Plans to Return to the Road for Select Tour
Allman Brothers Band co-founder Dickey Betts will return to the road, the guitarist confirmed in an announcement made on his 74th birthday, the Herald Tribune reports.
Betts’ longtime manager David Spero noted that the announcement serves as “a birthday present to himself,” as Betts will “go out and play a select group of dates.”
“Everywhere I go fans keep saying they want me to get out and play again,” Betts said. “I think the time is right.”
Betts will return to the road with The Dickey Betts Band featuring himself as well as his son Duane joining him. “We should know in a couple of weeks who will comprise the band,” Spero said.
Further information about the specific tour dates will be announced in the coming months.

Re: THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND
As most of you have heard, The Dickey Betts Band will be hitting the road in May and July. Because of promoter wishes, we can’t announce all the dates at this time. Watch dickeybetts.com to get the latest news on the tour.
Dickey has said he wants to cover a lot of the Allman Brothers songbook on these dates as well as paying tribute to Gregg. There will be some great surprises in the show!
The Devon Allman Project, featuring Duane Betts will also be on these shows. Other artists as well will be announced soon.
Dickey Betts is proud to announce the 2018 Dickey Betts Band lineup:
Dickey Betts-guitar and vocals
Duane Betts-guitar
Frankie Lombardi-drums
Mike Kach-keyboards and vocals
Pedro Arevalo-bass
Damon Fowler-guitar and vocals
Steve Camilleri-drums

Ni idea, esto salió en exclusiva para el festival Peach y en la web de Owsley Stanley. Creo que ya ha salido a la venta para todo el mundo, yo lo tengo en formato ALAC y suena de miedo.

The OWSLEY STANLEY FOUNDATION and THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND are pleased to announce the CD release of "Bear’s Sonic Journals: Allman Brothers Band, Fillmore East February 1970." It's available today exclusively at the Peach Music Festival, then through the OSF website on July 24, and in stores on August 10. This recording showcases an early incarnation of the band from February 11, 13, and 14, 1970, with Duane Allman in full form. The CD release presents the same playlist as the long out-of-print limited release from 1996, with all new mastering from Bear's original tapes. In fact, all of the source tapes for the CD have been mastered and will be released as high-resolution downloads (available on July 27 through our website). These downloads showcase never before released material from each performance, including the earliest known live concert recordings of “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed,” which the band opened with on each of the three nights.
